    Isis Fahmy

    Graduated of Sciences Po Aix Master, after a Bachelor degree in Aesthetics at Panthéon-Sorbonne, Isis Fahmy obtained the Master's degree in Stage Design from La Manufacture-Haute Ecole des Arts de la Scène with the presentation of Oscillation[s] at the Théâtre de Vidy. Since 2011, she has collaborated as assistant director and/or playwright with Pierre Guillois, Thomas Condemine, Gian Manuel Rau, Fabrice Gorgerat, Maya Bösch and Stéphane Braunschweig and Guillaume Béguin. At the same time, she founded the company [IF] in French-speaking Switzerland to develop her own projects, notably with Kairo[s] (2014-2020) which is based on sound research in Cairo and takes the form of various installations conceived with the interactive designer Benoît Renaudin: Waiting for Kairo[s] (Théâtre Saint-Gervais, March 2015), Three cubic meter Kairo[s] (Artellewa, April 2016 as part of a Pro Helvetia Cairo residency) Metro Kairo[s] (Festival de la Cité, Lausanne 2016) and Têtes au Kairo[s] (Théâtre Olympia, Tours, Dec. 2016), Updating Kairo[s] (GIFF, 2020). A new cycle (2016-2019) inspired by Alain Damasio's novel La Horde du Contrevent gave rise to the performance HORDE (Festival de la Cité, 2017 and Lieu Unique, 2019) and the creation of Contrevent[s] (Castrum/TBB / La Bâtie/ Théâtre de l'Orangerie, 2019). For this stage project, Isis Fahmy is the winner of the 2017/2019 theatrical companionship grant. In 2019, she also creates Polympe[s] at the Théâtre Saint-Gervais for the Festival La Créatives. Isis Fahmy has been an associated researcher at La Manufacture since 2018 on the question of the performative object at the crossroads of theatre and design. She is co-leading a new research in the program frame HES-SO Territoire en Recherche (until 2023) about the Grand Geneva in 2050 with colleagues from HEAD, HEPIA and HEG in Geneva
