After studying in Essen under the direction of Pina Bausch Stefan Dreher begins his dance carrier in Germany to continue dancing now for more then 20 years as well in Belgium. Here he collaborates with a multitude of renowned choreographers, dancers, composers, musicians and visual artists. Most intensively are the collaborations with Pierre Drouers and Thomas Hauert. In 2003, he founded the internationally touring collective Loving Lucy. He has been artiste associé at the Halles de Schaerbeek and artist in residence at the Choreographic Centre Charleroi/Danses. During this period, he developed a form of physical training combining yoga and dance techniques that is now used by Belgian and European companies and in professional dance education. Since 2003 he has created some 15 stage works and site-specific works which have been shown worldwide. Stefan Dreher is living and working since eight years in Munich.
His latest project, in cooperation with leading dance figures from all over Europe, is a dance marathon entitled “Dancing Days” ranging in length from 6, 9, 12 to 24-hours long and evolving in a new format in 2015: 11days, 66-hours.
