Marie Jeger *1992 grew up in a small village in Switzerland and plays viola since early childhood. After working as an assistant in theaters, she studies Music Pedagogy BA at Musikakademie Basel and HKB Bern. During music studies she finds her main interest in the body and starts training dance regularly at age of 24. After visiting the Intensive Course at SNDO in Amsterdam she enters the BA in Contemporary Dance at La Manufacture in Lausanne and graduated in 2021.
In her choreographic research she plays with the shape of the human body, often using the voice as an artistic tool. Performing as a dancer and/or musician she is currently based in Basel (cie. zisch, Sarina Scheidegger, Rahel Kraft, Gina Eté, Kleinmond, Crème Sauvage). As a member of cie.zisch she was selected for kicks! and created a piece for young audience at Tanzhaus Zürich in 2022. Her first own choreography "wesen" was performed as a solo at Roxy Birsfelden and as a group piece for five dancers at Ausstellungsraum Klingental Basel.
