    Madeleine Amsler

After studying art history and German literature at the University of Zurich, Madeleine Amsler obtained a MA degree in Art history with a specialization in Contemporary art at the University of Geneva.

She has gained experience both in the institutional world and through the independent scene. After completing an internship at the Mamco, she worked for five years at the Cabinet des estampes under the aegis of Christophe Cherix and two years at the Fine Arts Department of the Musée d'art et d'histoire. She co-directed the contemporary art space Forde in Geneva where she programmed many performances.

In November 2011 she co-curated (with Marie-Eve Knoerle, Jeanne Macheret and Maya Bösch) the festival "Who's Afraid Of Performance Art?". In parallel she co-directs the Embassy of Foreign Artists (www.eofa.ch), a residence for foreign artists that she co-founded. She is a member of the jury and regularly invited to juries of diplomas at the Geneva School of Art (HEAD). In 2014 she was guest curator of the 4th edition of the AGORA Athens Biennial.
