    Conflit israëlo-palestinien

The Manufacture community is deeply affected by the dramatic situation in the Middle East. The geopolitical events of recent weeks have generated anxiety and confronted us with unbearable violence. We condemn all forms of violence against civilians on both sides, and especially those who have strong personal ties with Palestinians and Israelis, both victims and direct witnesses of the conflict, and we express our support for them.

School is a place where everyone's sensibilities are expressed. It is also a sounding board. We listen and pay particular attention to the different messages transmitted by members of our community in the context of this conflict. The school is not and cannot be a place of division: at La Manufacture, we condemn any public unilateral declaration of political opinions that excludes dialogue. We condemn all hurtful and violent acts which may affect our students and staff, or which feed Islamophobia, anti-Semitism, or any other form of discrimination and exclusion, without exception.

Against this backdrop, we feel it is more vital than ever to work collectively to foster a climate of respect and tolerance. We oppose all discriminatory and dehumanizing discourse, and encourage dialogue, critical distance and shared reflection. The Manufacture must remain a space for debate, sharing and support for the whole community. It must also remain a safe place for everyone, helping to promote inclusiveness.

Information warfare is at the heart of the current conflict. We invite everyone to be aware of this, and to keep themselves informed by cross-referencing different sources of information and points of view.

Let's use the privileged space of a performing arts school to reflect and express our sensitivities through creations that challenge and work towards a better understanding of ourselves, others and the world around us, in order to combat discrimination, misunderstanding, anger and fear.
