    Aristide Tarnagda

    Author, actor and director, he founded the Théâtre Acclamations company in 2005. He has worked and collaborated with artists such as Safourata Kaboré, Étienne Minoungou, Odile Sankara, Eva Doumbia, Marie-Pierre Bésanger, Alexandre Koutchevski, Luis Marquès, Moïse Touré... Director of Les Récréâtrales since 2016, he has directed a text by Hakim Bah Gentil petit chien with students from the Comédie de Saint-Etienne and trainee artists from Labo ELAN 2014/2016. His latest text, Sank ou la patience des morts, was read at the 2017 Avignon Festival as part of RFI's Ca va, ça va le monde! readings. He co-directed it with Pierre Lambotte. He received the Grand Prix Littéraire d'Afrique Noire 2017 for the collection of his plays Terre Rouge and Façons d'aimer. In 2019, he directs Pistes... by Penda Diouf, performed in France and Germany.
    In 2021, he adapted Mohamed Mbougar Sarr's novel Terre Ceinte for the stage. The same year, he launches the TERRE CEINTE project, a cultural and artistic project to combat the rise of violent extremism in Burkina Faso, and conducts artistic workshops with displaced persons and host communities in provinces affected or threatened by terrorism.
    In 2022, he staged William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet with young amateur actors (from Ouaga, Kaya and Tenkodogo), professionals and internally displaced persons (IDPs). Fadhila is his latest text, written during a residency in Corrèze, in 2023.
