Mathieu Bouvier
A graduate of the Saint-Etienne and Lyon schools of fine arts, and of Le Fresnoy, the SNAC in Tourcoing, Mathieu Bouvier is an artist, art researcher and dramaturge.
As an artist, he films, photographs and writes in search of a déjà-vu.
Doctor in aesthetics, he defended in 2021 a doctoral thesis entitled "Les intrigues du geste. Pour une approche figurale du geste dansé", under the direction of Catherine Perret (Paris 8 - AIAC) and Isabelle Launay (Paris 8 - MUSIDANSE), École doctorale Esthétique, Sciences et Technologies des Arts, Université Paris 8 Vincennes à Saint-Denis.
Since 1997, he assiduously frequents the field of contemporary dance as a video artist, scenographer and dramaturge, with, among others, Loïc Touzé, Yasmine Hugonnet, Catherine Contour, Mylène Benoit, Vincent Dupont, Sorour Darabi, DD Dorvillier, etc.
In 2016-2017, in collaboration with the choreographer Loïc Touzé, he directs at the Manufacture de Lausanne / HES·SO - a research program entitled "The work of the figure. What does a dance give to see?". This program has led to the creation of a website: http://pourunatlasdesfigures.net/, a contributory platform for research in art, of which he is the editorial director.
He teaches art theory in a university context (lecturer at Paris 8) and in art schools (La Manufacture, HES·SO Lausanne; Master exerce, Montpellier; TNS, Strasbourg...).
