    Nicolas Doutey

    Writer and playwright

    A founding member of the creative review [avant-poste] (2002-2012), he has published a number of literary and theatrical texts, including translations of plays by Gertrude Stein.

    His plays have been published by Éditions Théâtre Ouvert and Esse Que.
    They have been directed by Alain Françon, Marc Lainé, Rodolphe Congé, Robert Cantarella, Sébastien Derrey, Jean-Daniel Piguet, Bérangère Vantusso, Adrien Béal, Sarah Calcine, Sylvain Maurice and others.
    In 2023 he was awarded the Prix Jeune Théâtre Béatrix Dussane-André Roussin by the Académie Française for all his dramatic work.
    He is an associate author of the Centre Dramatique National de Tours for the period 2024-2028.

    He has also conducted theoretical research into questions of writing, theatre and philosophy, leading to the publication of a book based on his thesis defended in 2012, Une idée de scène (Classiques Garnier, 2025).
    From 2011 to 2017, he worked on a number of Alain Françon's productions as assistant director and dramaturge.
    Since then he has worked as a dramaturge with several directors, and regularly leads writing and dramaturgy workshops.

        This research project originates from the fact that the musical term “score” has been borrowed, since the turn of the 20th century - and increasingly in recent decades - by other artistic disciplines, primarily theatre, performance and dance.
